Before you pray for a husband, ask yourself if you are preparing to become a suitable helper or if you are expecting a man to carry a weight that belongs to your own growth. Would I still pursue purpose if no one applauded me? Am I developing wisdom, peace, and character that make a home flourish? Do I value partnership more than control? Am I preparing to give as much as I expect to receive? Genesis 2:18 reminds us that God created a suitable helper, not a competitor or a spectator. Take another honest look at your purpose. Are you becoming who God called you to be, or are you chasing the expectations of family, friends, social media, or culture? If the opinions of people disappeared today, would I still choose this path? Am I making decisions from conviction or from the fear of being left behind?
